The accelerated bachelor of science in nursing (ABSN) is designed for those individuals who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree and wish to pursue a career in nursing.

A bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree blends academic and experiential learning. Grounded in liberal arts the BSN program prepares students for entry into professional nursing practice and provides the foundation for further study towards an advanced degree in nursing. Students complete clinical practicums in a variety of settings including adult health, maternal child health, and in the community.

Graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse (RN) and enter professional nursing practice.

The LPN to BSN program gives licensed practical nurses the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Applicants must hold a valid Massachusetts LPN nursing license and provide an updated resume to be considered for admission to the program. All general education and support courses must be completed prior to enrolling in any nursing courses.

At this time, the RN to BSN program has been suspended.

The RN to BSN program gives licensed RNs with either an associate’s degree or a diploma in nursing the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN). Applicants must hold a valid Massachusetts RN nursing license. The RN to BSN program is online and can be completed part-time in as little as two years.

Adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner provides a flexible program of higher education through which students may earn, on a part-time basis, a master of science degree with a major in nursing. Courses are offered primarily in the evening hours and are planned so that the part-time student can complete the program in three to three and one-half years.

Salem State's nursing education post-graduate certificate is offered for academic credit. The certificate is awarded at the completion of all four courses.
